We are here at Autodesk University 2015 sharing the latest Ember printer news. It was at this time last year the Ember Explorer program was announced and we began taking orders for the first 3D printing packages. This year, we are here with some new news.
Introducing CMYK+W Resins for the Ember printer
Resin development has been a focus for us and now, we are thrilled to let you know, you can customize your 3D printing color palette to meet your production or prototyping needs with Autodesk C,M,Y,K and W.
Autodesk Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black are available to purchase now with White coming soon. You can use them in their pure form or mix them together to create secondary colors and more.
The Ember production 3D printing package is now available
In addition to new materials now available for Ember, here is a brief overview of the other updates that have been made to the Ember printer since it first started shipping in February of this year.
Firmware: This year has brought multiple firmware updates to improve printing speed, increase print quality and consistency and improve the overall experience of printing with Ember. With the latest firmware and software updates, you can calibrate your printer to an accuracy of +-25 microns in X & Y.
Early Explorer Ember printers require a special programmer unit to upgrade them successfully but all Ember printers that are shipping now can accept future upgrades with the press of a button. If you still need to request a programming unit to upgrade your Explorer unit, please request one here.
Software: We built Ember to showcase the power of Autodesk's Spark 3D printing platform. In addition to setting the standard for 3D print preparation, Spark enables you to go directly from design to fabrication seamlessly from any Spark Powered software, including Fusion 360, Inventor, 3ds Max and Revit.
Hardware: After putting a network of Ember printers to the test for almost a year, there were a few small things we decided to optimize to improve the Ember printing experience. A resin spill guard, for example, now comes standard with the production release printer. For those with an Explorer Edition printer, you can find the Instructable and file to create your own here.
The 3D printing package: Each Ember purchase made at ember.autodesk.com now includes an additional 2 resin trays bringing the total number of trays to 4 (we know you want to start experimenting with CMYK+W) and a 1 year Fusion 360 subscription in addition to the 2 build heads, 2 bottles of resin and finishing kit.
See how Ember can make a difference for your business.
